One-Page Graphic Novels
The idea here is to reduce an entire book to one page. First you figure out the average number of panels per page and then you select that number of panels from the book so that they are as equally spaced as possible. For example, in the case of Black Candy, the standard page layout features 9 panels, so the book was reduced to one page of 9 panels equally spaced (as near as possible) throughout the book (i.e. panel 1, panel 50, panel 100...panel 400, out of 401 total panels)

Black Candy, by Matt Madden (Highwater Books)

Cola Madnes, by Gary Panter (Funny Garbage)

Ghost World, by Daniel Clowes (Fantagraphics Books)

Lust for Life by Jeff LeVine (Reduction by Marc Weidenbaum: I call this my "Five Percent Solution" of LeVine's "Lust for Life," because I got the 176-panel comic down to 9 panels, each panel (more or less) equally distant from the ones that directly proceed and follow it. I based this reduction on the mathematical system with which Matt's been working.)
