the Instructors
Lauren
Weinstein
Lauren R. Weinstein is an illustrator,
cartoonist and teacher in Brooklyn, NY. Her strip, "Notes
From Vineyland", ran in Seattle's weekly paper,
THE
STRANGER for many years. She has also done many
comics for teenage girls at gURL.com,
including "Am I Fat?" which prompted over
10,000 emails from young women across the world. She
has recently published her first book, INSIDE VINEYLAND
and teaches cartooning and drawing at and teaches cartooning
and drawing at various schools and museums around New
York. She also is a singer in the avant-garde rock band,
Flaming
Fire.

Tom
Hart
Tom Hart's cartoons have appeared
in his own numerous comic books as well as in magazines
such as STAR WARS KIDS and PULSE.
He was an early recipient of the
Xeric
Grant for cartoonists, funded Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtle creator Peter Laird, and has been nominated for
the comic book industry's most prestigious awards: the
Eisner, the Harvey, and the Ignatz.
Hart has contributed to literacy
projects for Cartoonists Acoss America, and is a steering
committee member of the National
Association of Comic Art Educators. He teaches college
cartooning at the School
of Visual Arts in New York City, where he lives
with his wife, Leela.
