The King
...a.k.a. Big Daddy War, a.k.a. Daddy Warstocks, a.k.a. Grandmaster A.K.A., he is the new but undisputed ruler of Trunktown. His past is foggy, his plans for the city an enigma, but one fact cannot be contested: Trunktown loves having a King. Who is he and why is he in charge? Everyone has a theory. Every theory is probably wrong.

Frick
The shameless but hardworking flunky to the King, Frick takes pride in his work. His duties around the palace include bootlicking, groveling, washing the elephant, and the incarceration of known and suspected spies.

Hutch Owen
Does injustice hound Hutch Owen, rabblerouser, cynic, iconoclast, and archetypal Angry Bum? Do the Powers That Be go out of their way to rile his righteous indignation with outrageous shows of tyranny and oppression? No, alas; that's simply the way the world is. At present Hutch is bunkered in Trunktown, where he plays checkers and furrows his brow with mistrust.

Oswald
A trust-fund baby free to wander where the whim takes him, Oswald has attached himself to Hutch, probably against Hutch's will. He studies ephemera and collects esoterica. Armadillos take a liking to him.

Prama Baldy
Deep ruminations upon Art and Philosophy pass through the head of this sidewalk yoga instructor and professional human statue as he poses, hour after long hour. Or perhaps not. At any rate, he doesn't seem to ever run out of enthusiasm for one odd passion after another, be it the teachings of his Tibetan online guru or a passerby he mistakes for a fellow aesthete...

Faustine
The new girl in town, she arrives with a trunk, a musket, and a chip on her shoulder. Who is she gunning for, and why? She may never tell. But will she sing?

Vernielle
Somebody has to provide Trunktown with its novelties, sundries, and consumer goods, the things worth having that can't be had for free. At least, Vernielle thinks so. Usually found flanking Faustine, this nearsighted small-business owner and investor is up for anything if it promises to make a few bucks for someone. She is industrious, patriotic, and owns her own donkey.

Fen
Never less than totally baffling, Fen offers his services as a porter during his stays in Trunktown, which occur intermittently and without warning. When not in Trunktown, he tends to business... elsewhere.
